Sometimes the workers suck too ...

I just wanted to vent, but whatever.

I had just got home about ten minutes before after a long day at work and I get a knock at my door. It's somebody trying to convince me to swap power companies.

I told him I wasn't interested.

He asked why.

I told him I didn't like the company - he wanted details. Then wanted to know which power company I was with.

He then told me about a lady with the same company I was with who didn't get a bill for about six months and then got a very high bill. She didn't pay anything for those six months. Granted, the bill sounded a bit excessive, but that all depended on her circumstances - ie, whether she lived alone etc. So I said to him, if you aren't getting your bills, surely you would be asking about it before those six months were up? When I changed power companies, I didn't get a bill for about three months, but guess what? I still paid money into the power company, using the already provided account number. I didn't wait until I got a bill. After that three months, I queried it, but when I finally did get an actual read bill, I was in credit. It's called taking responsibility.

He didn't seem to like that. What really annoyed me was, it took me ten minutes to get this guy to go away. He was very persistent. I know the companies that hire these people tell them not to take no for an answer, but did he really have to be told three times that I wasn't interested? Grrrr.

I would have just shut the door in his face after the first time I said no if he didn't leave. I usually try not to be rude, because I know they are just doing their jobs, and going door to door would really suck, but if they keep pushing I have very little patience for people who do that.
