Summary: Total AU where Kal grows up a Luthor and becomes publisher of the Daily Planet only to meet and decide to seduce its star reporter, Lois Lane.

It was sort of ironic, Lois Lane Luthor thought as she entered the Daily Planet, how fate or destiny, or whatever she called it, had a way of fixing things that once went wrong. Jor-El explained it as an alternate reality. Whatever it was, it felt like things had shifted in the last year. Almost as if it had become what it had been meant to be all along.

Her life hadn’t turned out at all like she’d planned. When she’d left high school, she’d had no intention of becoming a journalist. Yet here she was, an award-winning journalist. Maybe not a Pulitzer as she’d once boasted to Kal, but a Kerth Award, which was just as good. And she hadn’t won that alone.

Her stories on Superman had made headlines around the world. Little did the rest of the world know that the alien being known and beloved as Superman was her husband and partner-in-crime, so to speak. Not to mention her publisher, and boss. Although, she decided with a smirk, only the boss in the boardroom. Certainly not in the bedroom.

How little had she known, a year ago, when Kal Luthor had walked into the bullpen and been mistaken for the mail room guy, just how big an impact he would have on her life. Not only had she married Kal, less than six months after they’d met, but she’d also become part of a bigger family. Her father-in-law, Lionel, once a taciturn man, had learned to step back and trust his eldest son, Lex, in running the company he’d built, turning it into the most powerful corporation in the city, as well as the country. And Lionel had begun to enjoy life, thanks to his new wife, Martha, who both sons had welcomed as a second mother.

And Lex had found love himself. In Lana Lang. They’d announced their engagement a month ago, but were in no rush to walk down the aisle, unlike Kal, who couldn’t wait to announce to the world that the beautiful Lois Lane was his.

As Lois walked out of the elevator and down toward her office, she heard a flurry of activity. Jimmy Olsen, seventeen and a senior in high school, came running toward her.

“What is it?” she asked.

“Superman,” he said. “There’s a huge fire on the East River. People trapped. Gotta run,” he said. “Boss wants front page pictures.”

Lois smiled. Kal would tell her the story once he got back. She could afford to dawdle.

The city of Metropolis had certainly embraced Superman with open arms. Superman had appeared on the scene after a gas explosion in the street had caused a massive pile-up. The city’s population had been stunned then grateful. It had put paid to all the negative talk about superhero vigilantes. Everyone in the city loved Superman. All except one part of the city. The part controlled by Morgan Edge. Senior, that was, not junior. Kal had confronted both of them as Superman a short time after his impressive debut.

“I came to tell you that I know who you are,” he told junior. “Who you really are. And there is nothing that I would enjoy more than to see you dethroned and put in prison where you belong.”

Morgan Edge had continued to be a thorn in their side. But Lois, and Kal, working undercover as Clark Kent, had continued to write stories intended to expose Morgan Edge for what he was.

Lois waited at her desk, chewing on a pencil. Half an hour after Jimmy had rushed off to get his page one, Kal ambled in. Lois immediately stood up, wrapping her arms around her husband and kissing him.

“That’s quite a welcome, Mrs Luthor,” he said.

“Mm, you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

They never did get to try that little fantasy she had, of him taking her in his office, over his desk. But it didn’t stop her from imagining it. Or trying to persuade him.

“What am I going to do with you,” he said, shaking his head, chuckling, knowing what she was thinking.

“Mm, well you already married me,” she murmured.

He pulled her closer, kissing her again. “That I did. Hmm, I wonder what your boss would say if I swept you up, took you home, and made love to you.”

“Well, since I’m the boss everywhere but the boardroom I’d say what are you waiting for?”

Kal chuckled softly as they lay in bed later that evening, remnants of an impromptu picnic still in evidence in the bedroom. A year ago he’d planned on seducing reporter Lois Lane with the intent of sleeping with her and then dumping her as he’d done every other woman. But Lois had stolen his heart, seduced him with her beauty and her brilliance and turned him into a man with a purpose.

Now he was Kal Luthor, husband, publisher, part-time reporter – as Clark Kent, and Superman. All these alter egos could get confusing but not to him. He finally knew his place in the grand scheme of things and because of his beautiful wife, he was finally doing good in the world.

“What’s so funny?” Lois asked. She’d been drowsing beside him but was awake again.

“Just thinking how my life has changed.”

Lois curled in his arms, splaying her hand on his chest.

“Mm, if it wasn’t for me, you’d probably still be a womanising creep.”

“Hey!” he said, protesting.

“Well, it’s true!” she told him.

“Mm, but not everyone likes to see the truth painted so starkly in black and white.”

Lois lifted her head and kissed him. “It doesn’t matter anyway,” she said. “Because I’m proud of the man you are now. I love you.”

“Which part?” he asked in a whisper.

“All of you. Kal, my lover, my best friend. Superman. And even Clark Kent.” She chuckled. “Did you know I always had a thing for nerds with glasses? Well, one nerd, anyway.”

It was a game they often played. They’d be out on a job, with him pretending to be Clark Kent and she would look at him.

“God, you’re so hot like that,” she’d say.

Which would lead to hot sex where ever they could find a hiding place. He couldn’t get enough of it. Their passion for each other had increased with time, rather than diminished. And his love for her grew, making him want to be a better man. Yes, she still had a way of landing herself in trouble, which meant he had to drop what he was doing and rescue her, but she’d rescued him just as many times when his enemies had used Kryptonite. They were true partners, in and out of bed, and he loved that.

“What are you thinking?” she said softly.

“About us. About how you’re always needing rescuing.” He rolled his eyes and smiled. “But you know what, I wouldn’t change you for the world. I love how you dive right in. Even when you shouldn’t.”

Lois sighed contentedly. “You’re right, I do act without thinking sometimes.” And then something she said had him staring at her in wonder. “But I guess I’ll have to slow down eventually. Be a little more deliberate about things, I suppose.”

Lois rolled over, leaning on one elbow. She took his hand and pressed it to her stomach. He’d noticed a slight change in her body but it had never been so obvious until she’d made him actually feel it.

“You’re going to be a Daddy,” she said.

And Kal gathered his wife in his arms, holding her close, not caring when he discovered he was crying. He’d never thought he’d be a father, especially because of his alienness.

“Baby?” Lois asked.

“Happy tears, honey,” he said. “You’ve made me the happiest man on Earth.” He kissed her. “I love you, Lois Lane Luthor.”

“I love you, Kal Luthor. Superman. Super Dad.”

He chuckled. “Super Dad. I like that.” He hugged her, holding her in his arms as they drifted off to sleep, full of dreams of the future.

Well, I've often said if I can evoke that kind of emotion then I've done my job. Thank you for reading and commenting. You made my day!

I loved this: the way you took established characters and wove them skilfully into your AU was brilliant. I liked the brotherly interchanges very much, they seemed so natural and full of love, also the way you treated a reformed Lionel and a loving but no-nonsense and emotionally strong Martha.

The erotic scenes were very so and also full of love. They learnt about each other and enjoyed it.

Best of all, there were a lot of chapters, thank you.

Holy Mother of God!!!! That was soooooooooooo hot!!!! I've just polished off your entire Seduction Plan Fic, including the one-shot sequel, and I am SPENT.

I absolutely loved your Kal Luthor, and the chemistry between Lois and he, just mind boggling. You did a fine job. In fact, I think I am going to re-read it, just for the sheer pleasure and hotness.

I love Clark, but Kal Luthor has a sexy confidence about him and not afraid to speak his mind, it's so refreshing. It was a wonderful story and you have a real talent for keeping the suspense going. I found myself reading way past my bedtime, because I just kept clicking 'next' at the end of each chapter and couldn't stop reading on. ;)

I know I'm behind everyone else in the fic dept, but I watched Smallville during it's entire 10-yr run, never even checking to see if there was fanfic. So now, this helps to prolong the series for me and I get to enjoy CK through various writers' words.

You know, it is a huge compliment for a writer to know that a person could not stop reading. So thank you for that.
As for Kal Luthor, I do love writing him. It's funny that I actually began writing this long before the Luthor storyline. Even though he did turn out to be evil in that show, I'd like to think that Kal would still retain that innate goodness. At least in my 'verse.
Thank you for the lovely comments.
