Random Ramblings

So, I was just chatting to a workmate - well, technically he's sort of my boss, and it turns out we like some of the same stuff. He used to watch a lot of Stephen J. Cannell stuff like I did back in the eighties and I was telling him about my Greatest American Hero fic. We both loved that show and he said, you know, that sounds like just the kind of thing Will Ferrell would do well, if they ever decided to do a movie on it. Well, they've done the A-Team, and the Rockford Files are in the works, I think. Who knows? Maybe they'll see my fic and call me up, ;) (Oh, and if you want to read the first three parts, check them out at my journal)

Huge shock - I didn't know Steve had died - he apparently died of complications of melanoma last month. Considering what he left behind, it's a huge shame.

Anyway, I was telling him about my Smallville fanfics and the reaction I've been getting on one site in particular due to a certain story. And I have to say I've been amazed at the response. Amazed and gratified. I've had so many wonderful comments from all of you faithful readers and it makes me love you guys even more because you really have validated what this is all about for me. Sharing my enjoyment of writing. I really do love writing, and knowing that others are getting a kick out of it - well, who needs Prozac? I've got you guys as my happy pill!

One of the things we were talking about was Mike Rosenbaum. And he had a lot of praise for Mike and his talent. While I love Tom and his portrayal of Clark, and I know the show's really about the pre-Superman years of Clark Kent, those first few years with Lex really made the show what it was, and I sincerely hope that when the show does end in May next year that even if Mike doesn't come back for one episode at least, that they find a fitting way to pay tribute to the hard work of everyone involved. And at least Smallville will go on in fanfics.

Anyway, it's nice that I can get to share this not only with my colleagues at work, but also with you lovely people out there in online world. Maybe one day I'll win Lotto (or something) and fulfil my dream of being able to travel the world and meet all of you in person.

In the meantime, and not to get too sappy, I love you guys. And there are a few of you I would wrap in hugs so tight I'd probably squish you, but hey, you guys have been my lifesavers, not only as readers, but as writers too. I'd mention you all by name, but I'd feel bad if I left anyone out and I hope the very special ones know just how special they are to me. *Hugs*

Congrats honey!

I have yet to find someone who likes the same stuff that I do.

And get a lot more comments for my stories, but that's beside the point. May I need Prozac lol

I'm really happy for you honey! *BIG HUGS*

What are you apologising for, you silly mare? That's what journals are for...rambling! :)

I'm so glad you have real life peeps who you can share your fanfic with, babes! And I wish you lived round the corner from me, because my Zod, the fun we'd have...!

You're a wonderful, talented author and a great friend, and the nicest & most respectful shipper I know. Simply put: you ROCK. ;)

You are so lucky to have someone in RL to talk to about fannish stuff. I'm envious. Plus, you're awesome as well. You put out the most amazing and unique stories that are such fun to read.

Right backatcha. If it wasn't for your Gumshoe story, I might not have joined LJ and met so many great people on this site. And made what I think will be lifelong friendships. And I'm glad I'm able to share my stories with friends like you too. It's hard when you're on your own and don't have many friends who share the same interests so it's been just wonderful to have become part of this community.

It's so great that you found someone to talk about Smallville and especially fandom in real life. I am way too shy to talk about my fanfics to anyone. :D

Also, you totally deserve any and all praise for your fanfics. You're a great writer with really interesting and unique ideas. :)

Aww, thanks hon. Believe me I was a lot shyer than you when I was younger and I had to get over myself pretty fast. I'm still quiet at work, but it's great that there's someone of my generation at work that I have something in common with.
