You know what pisses me off?

I'm working my goddamn butt off at work, even going in at 7.30am when I'm not supposed to start until 8.30am (I won't be getting paid for it either), just so I can try and clear a huge backlog of emails. I'm getting average of 100 calls a day and customers are still complaining that nobody's answering their calls or emails.

My boss says I shouldn't take it personally but what the hell am I supposed to do when I've got customers basically screaming at me and implying I'm lazy because I can't pick up their phone call? I haven't been able to do anything else for days because of these phone calls. And I'm getting yelled at by my colleagues because I'm not doing what they need me to do in a timely manner. How the hell am I supposed to do those jobs if I'm constantly getting interrupted by the phone?

I'm so stressed I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I'm taking four days off next week as my Mum's going into hospital for her surgery and I'm seriously thinking of telling the bosses to shove their job. I really don't need this crap!

Hand the phone to the next person that screams at you for any reason and SCREAM back: "IF YOU THINK I'M DOING SUCH A HORRIBLE JOB, HERE TAKE IT!!! TRY IT FOR A FEW DAYS!!! I'M TAKING A STRESS DAY, AND YOU HAD BETTER HAVE MY DESK CAUGHT UP BY THE TIME I GET BACK, OR I DON'T EVER WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER WORD OUT OF ANY OF YOU ABOUT MY LACK OF PERFORMANCE AROUND HERE EVER AGAIN. IF YOU WON'T HELP ME OUT, SHUT THE HELL UP!!!"

And then tell your boss, they had better start paying you for the extra work or you'll turn them into the labor board. (If NZ has such an organization... We do here in California and employees do NOT hesitate to threaten to report an employer for underpaying overtime, or not getting the required breaks, etc, etc.)

Can you put in for stress leave? If you can't quit this place, you at the very least need some days away from it, to re-energize, because it's not doing your sanity any good.

Seriously, you don't need to have to go through all that, it sounds so unfair. I hope things look up for you soon. xx

... meant to add also, if you're on a roll, and any of these folks are the reason you are getting all those extra customer complaint calls and emails, you might want to continue with:

"... AND WHILE YOU'RE BUSY CRITIZING MY JOB PERFORMANCE... THINK ABOUT DOING YOURS WITH A LITTLE MORE POSTIVE CUSTOMER ORIENTED ATTITUDE AND MAYBE I WOULDN'T END UP WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS. MAYBE I SHOULD JUST HAND THOSE CALLS BACK TO EACH PERSON THAT PISSED THE CUSTOMER OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE..."

Okay, I'm done now... getting mad for you across the Pacific Pond...
