Part Sixteen

Sunday was spent quietly. Kal put his foot down with Lois, telling her she wasn’t to even think about working on the story. Lois pouted, as he expected she would, but he had perfected the puppy dog look as a child and he knew how to counter it.

He decided to give her some space. They’d practically been in each other’s faces for the past week and he didn’t want her to feel that he was being over-protective. And it seemed that Lana, Lois and Martha had decided to use the day to go shopping together. Kal wondered what that shopping trip was going to entail, but he didn’t find out until he walked into his office the next day.

Lois was wearing a suit that looked new. It was sort of a dark caramel colour that went great with her dark hair and a silky white top underneath. The skirt was just long enough not to be illegal and short enough to show very sexy long legs. Kal cleared his throat.

“Uh, is that new?” he asked.

“Like it? We found it in a little boutique yesterday.”

Count to ten Luthor, he told himself. Count to ten. The suit hugged every luscious curve and even though it looked totally professional, he found himself wanting to jump her then and there.

Lois was smirking at him. She knew she’d got to him. Evil, he said to himself. Just plain evil.

“So, I was thinking we should head over to the Atlantis and talk to Morgan Edge.”

“You’re just going to march in there and demand to see him? How is that going to work?”

“I’ll use the old Lane charm,” she grinned.

She turned away and picked up something from the desk. “Before I forget, I think you should wear these.”

She was holding out a pair of horn-rimmed glasses. And they were the ugliest looking pair of frames he’d ever seen.

“Lois, come on.”

“You’re not Kal when you’re out in the field with me, remember? You’re Clark Kent.”

Kal wanted to howl in frustration. There was no way she was making him wear those things. But it didn’t seem like he had much of a choice. He’d only invented the persona for the byline, but she seemed determined to take it further by creating the works.

“So we spent the entire day trying to talk to Morgan Edge and his cronies. And so much for the Lane charm,” he said as he munched on popcorn with his brother that night.

Lex just smirked as he sipped his scotch. “You are so whipped you can’t even see it, Kal.”

“Whipped?”

“Face it, she’s got you twisted around her little finger and you’re loving every minute of it. I see your face when you look at her. Next thing you know she’ll be putting a dog collar and leash on you and calling you her slave. And you’ll just lap it up.”

Kal grimaced. “Like I really need that picture,” he said, shuddering, thinking of Lois as a dominatrix, complete with whip and leather outfit. “Anyway, you’re a fine one to talk. What about you and Lana?”

“Lana is an artist.”

“And your point is? You’ve been dating the girl for what a week, ten days?”

“Whatever, lap dog.”

“Shut up.”

“Oh, by the way, Dad called. Martha’s apparently been working overtime to make the suit. And she wants you to go for a fitting tomorrow night.”

Kal groaned. “I cannot believe I let you guys talk me into wearing that thing.”

“Well, Lois is right about one thing. At least no one’s going to be looking at your face.”

Kal grabbed a pillow and threw it at his brother. Lex just grinned as he caught it.

“I hate you,” Kal grumbled.

“Yeah, right backatcha little brother.”

Kal left a short while later, driving to his apartment. Part of him wanted to stop at Lois’ apartment, but he wanted to respect her space. He thought as he drove about Lex’s teasing. His brother might joke and say he was whipped, but the truth was, he liked the thought of working with Lois. It wasn’t just that she supported him. It was that she also kept him grounded.

He’d once had a long talk with Jor-El, who had been concerned that Kal’s upbringing might make him too arrogant. During his training, Jor-El had tried to stress the responsibility of his powers. That just because he had that power, didn’t mean he should use them all the time. It was similar to something Lois had said, although she had been talking about his power as a Luthor.

“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”

Jor-El was right. Superman was supposed to be a guide. He was supposed to teach the people of Earth how to save themselves. No matter how much Lionel had wanted him to use it to conquer the world. Deep in his heart, Kal had always known that he didn’t want to use his powers that way. Didn’t want to hurt people, or make them bend to his will.

He suddenly found himself wanting to talk to Lois about that same problem. As he ran up the stairs to his penthouse apartment, he realised he couldn’t wait to pick up the phone and talk to her about everything.

“Kal,” she laughed, “we only saw each other three hours ago.”

“I know,” he said, lounging lazily on his bed in his boxers. “I just wanted to hear your voice.”

“Sounds like you missed me,” she said fondly.

“Did you miss me?” he asked.

Lois was silent for a moment and Kal wondered if she was trying to think up an answer that would let him down gently.

“Lois?”

“Uh, you know that t-shirt you left here?”

He frowned. What t-shirt? Then he remembered. There’d been a t-shirt he’d been wearing the first day he’d stayed to take care of her. It had been missing from his stuff.

“I, uh, kind of stole it,” she confessed.

“You stole it?” A delighted grin crossed his features.

“Well, it, um, smells like you.”

Oh yeah, she had a case as bad as his. “Really?” he said, settling back.

“And it feels so warm and soft on my skin.”

“Are you wearing it Lois? I mean, right now?”

“Yes. I’m lying on my bed with it on.”

“Are you wearing anything underneath?” he said in a low, seductive voice. His hand moved down to idly stroke his cock.

“My panties,” she whispered.

“No bra?”

“Huh-uh.”

“Suck your finger,” he told her. “Make it nice and wet, then rub your nipple.”

He closed his eyes, imagining her doing just that. He could pretend it was him touching her, pinching her nipple until it stood erect.

“Kal,” she said with a breathy moan.

“What does it feel like?” he asked. “Tell me what you feel.”

“It feels so good. It’s getting hard.”

“Take off the shirt Lois. Take it off.”

He heard movement as she dropped the phone. His ears picked up the sounds of her pulling the shirt off.

“Okay, it’s off,” she said, picking up the phone again. “What are you wearing?” she asked.

“My boxers.”

“And nothing else?”

“Nope.”

“Oh god, I’m picturing you right now. God I love your chest and your abs – so muscular. Kal, touch it, pretend it’s me, licking you all over.”

He moved his hand off his cock which had slowly filled as he was talking to her, and moved his hand to his chest, caressing it as she instructed.

“Cup your breast with your hand,” he said in return. “Wet your thumb and rub it over your nipple. Pretend it’s me. I’m licking your nipple, my mouth is on your breast. You taste so good Lois.”

“Ooohh,” she moaned. It sounded like she was sinking deeper into the bed. “I’m taking your cock in my hand,” she continued, and he copied the movements she described. “God, Kal, you’re so big, I want to lick it, I want to take it in my mouth, but I don’t want to move from your chest so I just keep stroking, harder and harder.”

“My hand is moving lower,” he told her. “Your pussy is so wet. Do you feel it Lois? Are you wet?”

“Oh god yes! Tell me what you’re going to do next,” she demanded.

“I’m stroking your clit, soft at first, then harder and harder.”

“Please, oh god I can feel you.” It was her turn. She seemed to be straining, almost stammering. “I close my hand around your cock so it’s tight and I just keep moving up and down, harder and harder.”

Kal groaned, his hand moving faster on his shaft, his thumb pressing onto the slit, spreading pre-cum. “Ungh,” he grunted. “I put my finger in you, keeping my thumb on your clit, pressing harder. You’re so hot and tight and you grip my finger like it’s in a vice.” He imagined himself inside her, thrusting hard and described to her what he was seeing. He could see her flushed and sweating, writhing underneath him. He was throbbing, so hard it was almost painful, his member sensitive in his hand as he thrust in his fist.

“Kal,” she cried out.

“Lois, god, I’m ...” He couldn’t even finish the warning as ropes of pearly cum spurted out, all over his hand.

“Kal, oh!” He heard the shudder in her voice and knew she’d climaxed. He heard her panting for breath. “God, Kal.”

“Lois? You okay?”

“That was amazing!” she said. “I ... uh, I’ve never done that before.”

“To be honest,” he admitted, “neither have I.”

“Really?”

“Really. I’ve never met anyone I wanted to have phone sex with before.”

He hadn’t meant to do it. It had just been one of those spur of the moment things. But it had felt so good. It would never be as good as the real thing, but somehow it just felt right.

“Let me wash up,” he told her. “I’ll be back in a minute or so.”

“Okay. I’ll be here.”

He hurried, quickly washing himself down, then flopped back on the bed.

“I’m back,” he said.

“That was less than thirty seconds,” she laughed. “You sure the water even touched you?”

“Funny, Lois. Trust me, it did, and I didn’t even use full super-speed.”

“Show off. I wish I had super-speed. Then I could sleep in longer in the mornings.”

“You’re not a morning person, are you?”

“Ugh, you should try being woken up at the crack of dawn with reveille. I used to be so envious of my sister, off at some fancy boarding school. Only she got in worse trouble than I ever did.”

“I can’t imagine you getting into trouble Lois.”

“Are you kidding? Why do you think I never finished my senior year of high school with the rest of my class? I was too busy trying to get out of school.”

Kal laughed. Lois began to tell him of the things she had got up to in high school. Like sneaking around behind the bleachers to take a smoke break with some of the jocks. She’d quit smoking when her father had found out about it and he’d sat her down and told her exactly how her mother had died. It had been the only real conversation she and her father had had.

“I mean, usually it’s ‘drop and give me twenty’,” she told Kal, “but, I don’t know, I guess he just didn’t want me to go through the same thing my mother did. Anyway, me and my Dad have always had this love-hate thing going.”

“Couldn’t be any worse than being raised by Lionel,” Kal told her. “I mean, put it this way, my father’s idea of discipline was a lecture in how not to get caught. Lex and I could pretty much get away with anything, as long as it never appeared on the front page of the local rag.”

“But you never got in much trouble though.”

“I did my share,” he admitted. “I mean, my first year at Excelsior, I found out my roommate was a dopehead and I thought it would be a cool thing to do. But drugs and alcohol never really affected me and it stopped being fun, or cool after a couple of months. So I never did it again. Besides, I saw what it did to some of my friends. About half of them ended up in rehab before they were twenty.”

“Poor little rich boys,” she commented.

“Go on, say it. You think we were all spoiled brats,” he said.

“I don’t have to,” she chuckled. “You said it for me.”

He’d fallen into that one.

“So, why is it that Lex got into trouble and you never did? Or never got caught?”

“I don’t know,” he sighed. “I guess my heart wasn’t really in it. As far as Lex was concerned, well, Dad always treated him like, I don’t know, second best, when I came along. And I guess he was always a little bit jealous. I hated the attention so I just wanted to keep my head down.”

“And the girl thing?”

“Okay, so when it came to the girls, I lapped it up. Sue me. It’s not like Lex didn’t come in for his fair share of female attention.”

“Even if it was the wrong kind,” Lois told him.

“It’s true,” he said. “Maybe it was wrong for us to do it, but the girls were using us just as much as we were using them. There’s a lot of ... I don’t know, prestige, I guess, from being with a Luthor.”

“Poor baby. All that attention must have been so exhausting.”

“You’re loving this aren’t you?”

“At least I dated guys for the right reasons. Not just to scratch an itch. Even if I had to go through a lot of Mister Wrongs to get to Mister Right.”

“So what was Ollie?”

“At the time, he was Mister Right Now. Not that he was bad for me. I mean, he’s got a lot of great qualities. But it just never really felt like a forever thing, you know? And now he’s got Chloe and I’m really happy for them.”

“And what am I?” he asked softly.

“You need to ask?”

“I need to know,” he said.

“You’re everything,” she said.

“Well that narrows it down,” he smirked.

“Har de har har har, Luthor.”

They talked long into the night. It was only when Kal looked at his clock that he realised they’d talked for over four hours, apart from the brief interlude of the phone sex. He faked a yawn, even though he wasn’t tired at all and could go on talking to her all night. But Lois did need her sleep. She was only human.

“I guess we should go to bed,” Lois said reluctantly. “I do need my beauty sleep.”

“Yeah,” he said, unable to think of a smart answer. “Lois?”

“Mm?”

“Uh, goodnight,” he said, unsure why he couldn’t say the three little words he wanted to say. But she seemed to understand.

“Me too, Kal. I’ll see you in the morning.”

Actually this isn't the chapter I told you about. It's about to get even hotter.
Something Kal tells Lois here is just the tip of the iceberg as well. But you'll have to wait a couple of chapters for that.
